I’m Kevin Sterne, an artist and writer living in Kingston, NY. I believe art and nature can be great healers. I use this newsletter to connect with people and explore how nature, art, and meditation can help us live richer and more fulfilling lives.
Through my art and writing I hope people can come to feel more connected with nature, each other, and the spiritual and mystical parts of life.
I am the author of the story collection All Must Go (2020) as well as the chapbooks You Can't Sell This (2021 with Lauren Zallo), From Your Jerry (2019), and I've Done Worse (2017). I’m currently working on another story collection.
In 2020, I won George Mason University’s Phoebe Journal Prize for Fiction. I’m the former host of the Test Literary Series at the Whistler (best bar in Chicago), Editor in Chief of Funny Looking Dog Quarterly, co-founder of Vinyl on Tap, and creator of LeFawn Magazine. I’ve written for distinguished publications such as Zone Coverage, Chicago Health Magazine, The Rumpus, and Hop Culture Magazine. My fiction, essay, and poetry, has been published in magazines such as Denver Quarterly, Mooncity Review, Smokelong Quarterly, BULL, Sobotka Literary Magazine, and Monkey Bicycle.
My visual artwork has been shown at the Shames JCC; Black Cow Coffee Co.; RiverArts Open Studio; and Beacon Open Studios at the Yard. In addition to this website you can find my work for sale at Hyperbole in Beacon NY and Holding Space in Kingston, NY.
Be kind. Watch for deer.
